About Andrew Wainstein
Andrew introduced the concept of fantasy football to the UK and is the man responsible for its growth into the mainstream and its place in the fabric of football.
Founding Fantasy League in 1991, he licensed the format to BBC2 for Skinner & Baddiel’s hit TV show and created the UK’s first mass-market fantasy football game for The Daily Telegraph in 1994 which has set the template for fantasy football games ever since.
He has steered the business through seismic changes in the media and technology landscape over the three decades, building teams, products and audiences and developing a successful brand and partnerships with media owners, rights holders and brands around the world.
This was a journey that taught him as much about running a successful business as it did about what it takes to be fulfilled as a founder.
He is now working as a coach for business leaders; working one-to-one and facilitating groups where they bounce ideas and work with one another to develop their businesses.
Alongside this he is hosting Campfire Conversations; bringing people together to explore what’s most important in our businesses, careers and lives as a whole.
