Speaker: Richard Mott – ‘Holistic Business’
Richard will explain how all people tend to operate from one of three centres – the head (thinking), heart (feeling) or gut (knowing) – and how a better understanding of this can improve personal performance and team harmony. He will describe how true personal power is achieved when we use all three centres and introduce his models for applying this in business. This approach is equally relevant to business leaders and consultants.
Richard has 35 years experience as a brand consultant, retail strategist and business consultant. Originally an economist, he has always been fascinated by what makes a business successful and over the years has developed many strategy models to help understand consumer behaviour, brand essence and business propositions.
He has now developed his own holistic approach to business aimed at helping business leaders harness their full potential and create harmonious successful businesses.
Career
Richard initially worked in advertising and then moved into the design industry working for Terence Conran. In 1988 he co-founded a retail brand and environment design practice called 2020 that has established a strong reputation for its strategic approach as well as its design excellence.
As a strategy consultant, his clients in the UK have included: Nat West, Sainsbury’s, Bhs, Homebase, Boots, New Look, Thomson Travel Group, Early Learning Centre, Clarks Shoes and Daewoo Cars. He has also worked extensively in the Netherlands, including a major strategy piece for KPN (the Dutch equivalent of British Telecom).
Having sold 2020 to a holding company, he remains as non-executive chairman and now acts as an independent consultant or non-exec to a number of other companies. He has recently written and published a book on his holistic approach to business: Holistic Business: Living in 3D.
Interests
Richard is currently part of a network of coaches developing a new approach to conscious and compassionate coaching and, with his wife Valerie, runs self-awareness workshops.
He is interested in esoteric sources for understanding our personal path such as Astrology, Numerology and the Enneagram. Richard also teaches Tai Chi and practices Vortex energy healing.
