Interim Interest Group

Wednesday 4th February 2015 – 5pm

Address Details: National Liberal Club, Whitehall Place, London SW1A 2HB

Speaker: Grant Speed, MD Odgers

‘Collaborating to grow the market and maximise margin for all’

We are delighted to have Grant Speed, Managing Director of Odgers Interim, to join us in a unique, highly interactive, collaborative workshop designed to shape initiatives that will support each other for growth. This is a real opportunity to work in partnership with Odgers to create good business for us all!

In a very open, frank and honest environment (CHATHAM HOUSE RULE – MEMBERS AND THEIR GUESTS – NO PROVIDERS PLEASE *), Grant will share his own perspectives and ideas and is looking for your input and experience to help develop the right approach that will work for us both. This is a genuine and rare chance to have your voice and shape initiatives for action and success.

The economic environment points to the need for all the expertise that experienced interims offer and yet the reality is that whilst growing, this is a niche market – the IIM survey points to circa 2500 interims commanding day rates of over £1000 (5,000 obtain over £800). In contrast, supply to the market is dominated by well over  80 interim service providers, constant churn of providers and consultants, a flood of new entrants with no experience and an average day rate that does not reflect the true value experience can offer clients.  It remains a challenge for providers and interims to find the competitive edge and command better financial return. We all know experience counts – but can we get that message across to the market and build a stronger business?

Odgers is in a powerful position to grow the market and make the distinction between highly experienced interims and the rest – join Grant in meeting the challenge!

*This is a unique event and its success depends on confidentiality and genuine partnership. We know everyone will respect this. Hence, on this occasion, the event is only for The Executive Network members and guests who are not interim providers.  The attendance list will be screened accordingly. Thank you for your understanding.

As one of the UK’s top executive search companies, Odgers pool of available interim management talent is probably the largest in the UK, whose experiences cover all disciplines and a wide spectrum of businesses.

Grant Speed is Managing Director of the Interim Practice at Odgers Berndtson, incorporating Commercial Interim and Public Interim. Highly experienced Grant began his career in the financial services sector before joining Michael Page in 1999. In ten years with Michael Page, he held management positions in the Sales, Marketing, Finance and Banking teams in both the UK and the USA. In addition, Grant was involved in launching Michael Page’s Recruitment Process Outsourcing division where he won and managed high value contracts with leading investment banks. Prior to joining Odgers Interim Grant worked for Robert Half, with responsibility for the Greater London operation. He graduated from Manchester University with an honours degree in American Studies, spending his third year at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
