Non-Executive Director SIG – 4.30pm-5.45pm

Location : Nabarro LLP, Lacon House, 84 Theobald’s Road, London WC1X 8RW

Speaker: Stephen Grabiner

Stephen’s presentation will include an overview of the Private Equity sector together with some of his experiences of running the Global Media Team and London Practice of Apax for ten years as well as being a member of the Executive and Investment Committees. Stephen will also discuss:

  • How do PE source their NEDs? Do you use headhunters, your own networks? How are these best accessed?
  • Can you explain what PE are generally looking for in their NEDS. How different is it to being an Independent NED in a publicly listed organization?
  • Is a PE NED more hands on or stands back, uninvolved in the detail and being responsible for oversight, guidance and compliance.
  • Remuneration – is this fee based, or do they prefer NEDS to have some skin in the game and be rewarded by equity participation on exit?

Followed by a Q & A
