‘Can the sporting elite be challenged by the everyday jogger?’
Learn how mass participation sport can provide the same appeal, power and return on investment as the sponsorship proposition of the elite. Hear what the opportunities are for brands to play in this space now.
Duncan Goodhew and Bastien Hibon from Limelight Sports will be using examples from the field, together they will look at:
- The art of successful mass participation engagement
- The integral role of inspiration in leveraging communities around a brand
- Who’s doing it well and the impact they are seeing (including the success of Sky Ride over Sky Team)
Founded in 1988, Limelight Sports is an engagement agency, enabling brands and communities to meet around sport. They have worked with brands including Nike, British Gas, Sky, Sainsbury’s, Sport Relief, Wiggle, ESPN and JP Morgan.
Duncan Goodhew
Olympic gold medalist and Swimathon President. Duncan Goodhew remains one of our country’s most instantly recognisable sportsmen. His many achievements in the pool culminated in a gold in the 100m breaststroke at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Duncan was awarded an MBE for services to sport in 1981 and is now an author, motivational speaker and Director of Limelight Sports.
Duncan has written a book ‘Fix Your Life Now’ which is published by Vermilion.
Duncan’s other interests include Open Water Swimming.
Bastien Hibon
Bastien joined Limelight Sports as Marketing Director from Mercedes’ AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. He was also responsible for creating the BrawnGP brand from scratch. He has previously also served as The Creative Director & Head of Communications for Climate Change with Friends of the Earth.
